Penny Penguin

My first independent publishing project, Penny Penguin Finds Her Way Home was written by a local grandfather and based on a story he told his daughters growing up. If that weren’t sweet enough, he’s opted to give the profits to the Mario Lemueux Foundation. It definitely warms my heart to have gotten to work on this.

A sweet and simple story about a penguin who gets lost and the various polar animals who help her get home, I worked hard not only to illustrate the text but also to edit and elevate it into a form which would maintain the personal elements while nevertheless achieving a broader market appeal.

“Penny Penguin Finds Her Way Home,” became a Finalist in the “Children’s Fiction Category” for the 13th Annual (2019) National Indie Excellence Awards.
